So last post I said I was going to post at least once a month. So being that the last post was in March and now it is almost Thankgiving... I'm going to post the next seven sentences separately... and still count this one for this month.
In March, we did not go to Japan. Godzilla was running afowl so we cancelled when after the third reactor explosion... so instead we bought a house. Then I disappeared from this blog only to remember it again when i checked my bookmarks. FYI: I never did a diary and I almost failed elementary school English because they had a journal requirement. I mean geez, why do I need to record my own thoughts? I was there the whole time!
April: I don't remember what happened in April. Maybe journaling or blogging monthly like I'm supposed to isn't a bad thing after all... Judging by my pictures... I went on an urban hike with some church folks. This is Council Crest in SW PDX.
June: In laws came to PDX. Took a road trip to Crater Lake. Upon reaching, walking out in the falling snow, jumping onto the four foot high snow drift. I asked my wife, "Wow, you'd never know if was April here." My wife said, "It's June." Oh... right. Maybe if I blogged, I wouldn't known that.
July or something:
September: it was busy as heck. Karen survived three trials in a row. Though winning all three counts as a little more than surviving, I think. Working on replacing the flooring. Note the cat forever appraising my work. He sleeps less. He hates change more than I do.
October: It was busy as heck. We went to Japan, will post more on this later. Karen had another trial right after we returned. I'm on five different committees at work, which isn't a big deal most of the time, except that all projects were due right before I left for Japan.
November: I finally broke down and bought a lawn mower... an electric one. It's a little weird to have the extension cord trailing behind me and it sounds like a vacuum cleaner. But don't be fooled, there's a metal blade under the hood... powered by a 6 amp motor. lol... but what the hell... I drive a Prius.
Karen is currently 5-0 with trials. She hates work, but work dangles carrots in front of her vis-a-vie pay raises. We'll see where this goes... if she were to voice it, I'd be okay with her stepping back to be a paralegal. I hated working at... well, that place before I left Hawaii. Though it did help me appreciate my next jobs.
I also joined a men's group at church. It meets at 6:30am so I have to wake at 5:45 to get there in time. Then drive all the way back to work... which is right down the street from where I live. Hopefully, I'll grow and well, be a little more socially integrated. It's hard to challenge yourself from the confines of your own home. I'm also a seasoned media person at church. I've run media a whole three Sundays and I've already trained two people.
Anyhow, thanksgiving is impending. Thankfully I have friends to hang out with. It would be weird to be willing, but not by choice, have nobody to spend these sort of days with. Just one more reason to be thankful. Oh, and for heat. It's currently 32 degrees outside. Me and the cat would have been freezing in the old apartments we had.
But I have a good heating system so it's 63 degrees indoors.
