Bar and Brrrrr

Karen has been diligently studying for the bar which is tomorrow (the 24th till the 25th), while I have been diligently preparing the meals and applying for jobs (from academic advisor positions to IRS revenue officer).

We've been going to the library on the art college campus very close to our apartment complex. It houses mostly artsy fartsy material, but it is part of the Washington County public library system (we live in Washington county in Oregon... Portland is in Multnomah County in Oregon).

It's a nice converted basement and warm, but often filled with too many right-brained people. Nothing wrong with that, without right brained people we'd probably live in a world that looks like Lower Uncton (Married with Children). But seriously, have you ever heard right brained people try to give directions? We did... the librarian assistant took a long time to (poorly) give directions, only so that the lost patron would have to call back twice later. She could specifically name the shade and architecture of the house but offered things like "you'll go around a really hard turn, like you almost have to come to a stop to go around it." Keep in mind that this lady doesn't drive... she catches the bus. C'mon, she's a hippy. Her feet are her only chariot... fab.

Karen left today to stay in a hotel near where the bar is being held. It's costs a little more, but makes more sense than driving 20 miles from our place daily to get there by 7 or so. The weather finally turned to regular Portland weather, rainy, dark, and cold. The cat had the idea of burrowing in the sheets; I figured it couldn't be a bad idea too. (Karen took this picture a few days ago... I didn't pose for this, in case you were wondering)
